MEET YOUR NATURALIST GUIDE
PETER ALLISON
Peter is the only person who became a safari guide by accident. At the age of 19 he was handed a rifle and the keys to a Land Rover and told to take people out to see wildlife. This was despite him growing up in Australia with no experience of anything more ruthless than a parrot, his inability to fire a gun, nor the fact he had never driven a car before.
Somehow his career grew and he became the guide trainer for Africa’s largest safari company. He’s now been leading safaris for 30 years across the African continent and beyond, and is increasingly involved in conservation where wildlife and humans intersect.
Peter is the author of three books, including the New York Times Notable Book of the Year, Whatever You Do, Don’t Run.
Peter will accompany us on the journey until the transfer to the Seychelles.
