The Wasserweg Hike

This trail, translating to “Water Trail” is a showcase of the Engadin’s alpine beauty, linking together six distinct lakes, each with its own character—some mirror-like and still, others windswept and dramatic. The path meanders through meadows, forests, and rocky stretches, keeping the scenery fresh and engaging throughout the journey.

While the full hike takes about six hours, the route is forgiving enough to break into shorter sections, making it approachable for families with children or anyone who prefers a gentler day outdoors. Along the way, there are plenty of inviting spots to stop for a picnic, dip your toes in the water, or simply pause to watch marmots darting across the grass.

With ever-changing views of turquoise lakes set against jagged peaks, it’s a trail that practically begs for photo stops—and by the end, you’ll have a camera roll full of alpine postcards you actually lived through.
