Männlichen Royal Walk

Reached by cable car from either Wengen or Grindelwald, Männlichen greets visitors with a 360-degree panorama of the Bernese Alps that feels fit for royalty. From the summit station, the “Royal Walk” is a gentle, all-ages trail leading up to a crown-shaped lookout point, with educational displays and interactive signs along the way that explain everything from alpine geology to local wildlife.

The path is short and easy, making it accessible for all ages, but what truly brings it to life are the four-legged locals—Swiss cows grazing freely on the meadows, their bells echoing softly against the mountainsides. Stopping to watch (or greet) them adds an extra layer of charm to the experience, turning a scenic hike into something both whimsical and authentic. With plenty of places to rest, read the displays or just soak in the views of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau, the outing takes around four hours when combined with a leisurely pace and photo stops.
