Wispile to Lake Lauenen Hike

This gentle yet rewarding trail combines big alpine views with a destination straight out of a postcard. The gondola whisks you up to Wispile, where a wide ridge path opens onto sweeping panoramas of the Bernese Alps before descending toward the peaceful Lake Lauenen.

Known locally as “the pearl of the Saanenland,” the lake is framed by meadows and forests, with water so calm it mirrors the peaks above. Families love this route for its flexibility: shorter, stroller-friendly sections make it easy for little ones, while older children enjoy the sense of adventure in reaching the lake itself.

Benches and picnic spots dot the way, and in summer you might spot cows grazing along the slopes, their bells adding a soundtrack to the scenery. With about two hours of easy walking, it’s a day out that delivers both accessibility and a true alpine atmosphere.
